Your Next UEFA Champions League Final Hosts

Hosting the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final is the most prestigious honour a city can receive. The event attracts thousands of travelling supporters to the host city and millions more viewers at home, in restaurants, pubs, bars and watch parties around the world.
In 2026, Budapest’s Puskás Aréna was the lucky host venue, where Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won a consecutive UCL title by defeating Premier League (EPL) club Arsenal FC on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra-time. The match was the first final since 2018 — when Real Madrid defeated Liverpool FC 3-1 at the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv, Ukraine — in which both finalists scored at least one goal. From 2019 to 2025, each final was decided by a clean-sheet.
PSG captured their first UCL title in 2025 at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany with a dominant 5-0 victory over Serie A club Inter Milan. By becoming only the second French club to win the UCL title, PSG joined Olympique de Marseille, which defeated Inter Milan rivals club AC Milan 1-0 in the 1993 final. Coincidentally, that historic Marseille triumph also occurred in Munich, at the city’s Olympiastadion.
2026-27 UEFA Champions League Final Hosts
The 2026-27 UCL final will take place on June 5, 2027 at Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid, which is home to LaLiga club Atlético Madrid. Inaugurated on September 16, 2017, the venue has already hosted the 2019 UCL final between Liverpool and league rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool won that match by a 2-0 score.
Future UEFA Champions League Final Hosts
Although the 2026-27 UCL campaign only began in early September 2026, UEFA has already confirmed the host venues for the 2027-28 and 2028-29 UCL finals. Munich’s Allianz Arena will once again host the 2028 final, while FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou will host the 2029 final. Camp Nou underwent extensive renovations from June 2023 to November 2025. While construction work is expected to continue until the end of 2027, the venue is already operational and can currently accommodate approximately 45,000 supporters.
The 2027-28 UCL final will mark the third time Allianz Arena’ has hosted a European Cup/UCL final and the fifth time the event has taken place in Munich. The venue first hosted the final in 2012, when EPL club Chelsea FC stepped into enemy territory and defeated Bundesliga club Bayern Munich on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra-time. In addition to hosting the 1993 final, Munich’s Olympiastadion staged the 1978-79 and 1996-97 UCL finals. In 1979, Football First Division club Nottingham Forest edged Allsvenskan (Swedish first division) club Malmö FF by a 1-0 score. which Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund defeated Serie A club Juventus FC by a decisive 3-1 score.
The 2028-29 UCL final will be the third European Cup/UCL final hosted at Camp Nou, which previously staged the final in 1989 and 1999. AC Milan won the former, routing Romanian club Steaua București 4-0, while United claimed the latter, with a dramatic 2-1 victory against Bayern after rallying from a 0-1 deficit and scoring twice in stoppage-time.

Recent, Current and Future Hosts for Other UEFA Competitions’ Finals
Alongside its announcement of the host venues for the UCL finals, UEFA also announced the 2027-28 and 2028-29 host venues for the UEFA Europa League (UEL) and UEFA Conference League (UECL), as well as the 2027 and 2028 UEFA Super Cup (USC) matches. The USC traditionally takes place in August before the start of the domestic season for most European clubs.
